Hi, I’m Deidre Beacham, and I’m a Recovering Nice Girl
For decades, I battled Nice Girl Training (NGT), rooted in trauma, societal expectations, and undiagnosed AuDHD. In my late 40s, I stepped into my power—coming out of the closet, leaving a patriarchal, unhappy marriage, and embracing my truth as a humanist with a stance to live boldly. However, no matter how successful I became in my life, I was still riddled with self-doubt.
My true breakthrough came during a 27-month experiment that helped me shatter the hold of NGT and unleash a new level of power and clarity. I now call myself a Recovering Nice Girl, setting boundaries, living authentically, and eliminating dishonest harmony from my life. And to quote the late, great John Lewis, “When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, you have to speak up. You have to say something; you have to do something.”
Now, I guide high-achieving women to do the same—helping them tear off the masks, reclaim their authentic selves, and step fully into their Power Voice and “do something”.
