Reset Your Life – Love and Embrace Your Past

You can’t move forward…until you embrace your past!

Some of you have not had pleasant pasts. In fact, when you saw that I said you had to embrace your past you may have thought to yourself, “Uh…no. Not happening.”

But take a moment and think about it. In fact, think about these questions:

  • Are you stronger because of your past?
  • Have you learned valuable lessons from your past?
  • Do you like who you are now?

If the answer to those questions is “yes”, then doesn’t it make sense to embrace how you got here?

Here’s more on that in this week’s video:

Certainly I’ve learned from my past and do like who I am now, not so sure I am stronger because of my past… those dark days knocked me on my ass HARD. So much better now, yes, but stronger? There are moments I feel that way, just moments.

Carolan – I completely understand. One of the ways to think of yourself as stronger is to think about what it is that you have overcome…in overcoming, you build strength. Our minds trick us into thinking that we’re not strong because we compare ourselves to where we want to be or how much stronger we think other people are. It’s not about that…it’s all about being better than you were before and to keep moving forward. Thanks for stopping by!

    Love the TRUTH Serum Video!
Never thought about loving it and appreciating it, but have thought that it is how I got to where I’m at today. Every bump in the road, and every mountain I’ve climb (not literally) has taught me a thing or two about myself.
Thanks for tip on Loving it and Appreciating it!

There’s a highway called Highway 80. I’ve marched on that highway from Selma, Alabama, to Montgomery. But I never will forget my first experience with Highway 80 was driving with Coretta and Ralph and Juanita Abernathy to California. We drove from Montgomery all the way to Los Angeles on Highway 80—it goes all the way out to Los Angeles. And you know, being a good man, being a good woman, does not mean that you’ve arrived in Los Angeles. It simply means that you’re on Highway 80. (Lord have mercy) Maybe you haven’t gotten as far as Selma, or maybe you haven’t gotten as far as Meridian, Mississippi, or Monroe, Louisiana—that isn’t the question. The question is whether you are on the right road. (That’s right) Salvation is being on the right road, not having reached a destination.

On Valentine’s Day, a “holiday” some of us love and some of us pass off as a silly day driven by Greeting card companies, we are supposed to celebrate the gift of human love, especially romantic love. And I ain’t gonna lie, I am a sucker for romance. Have I mentioned that Colin’s and my two year anniversary is on Tuesday?! You know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun. Romance is an incredible gift from God. Its power is true mystery. I’ll spend some serious time thanking God for the love of my life tomorrow.
