If you had the chance to talk to a woman in the throes of what you experienced, what advice would you give her?

Whatever you do, don’t give up! You may not believe me now, but trust that I know what I’m talking about when I say that your life has so much potential! I know that it feels like you’re living in hell, but it doesn’t mean that it will always feel that way. In fact, as painful as life feels right now, it can feel just as intensely wonderful!! It will take time and energy, but you don’t have to do it alone.

I know that you feel alone and lonely but it doesn’t have to be that way. Make sure you let people help you. There are people that want to help and when they offer, let them.

Hire a therapist and be honest…brutally honest about what you’re thinking and feeling. Listen to them and know that there is a future for you filled with joy and beauty, but first you have to fight your way through the demons in your head.

Read! Read a lot! Read quotes by Maya Angelou and self-help books. Then go back to the library and read some more!

Learn how to make friends and be a friend. Find someone to be your hope for you until you have your own.

It is so very worth the effort. I know.

Let go and see,

Deidre Hughey

You Are a Powerful Badass

July 21, 2019 I remember the very first time I turned the camera on myself. It was 2008. I had purchased a "Flip" camcorder (anyone remember those?). The moment I pressed record and that little light turned red, I froze. What the hell was I supposed to say? I felt so...
